Abdul Wakeel was born in Swat, Khyber PakhtoonKhwa, Pakistan. He received his bachelor degree (B.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with major in Communication from NWFP University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar, Pakistan in 2005. Afterwards, he joined Mobiserve, a subsidiary of Mobilink Pakistan, as internee for a period of four months. His job responsibilities included Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of Mobilink BTSs. Later on, he moved to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) as Engineer Transmission. As Engineer Transmission his job responsibilities were Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the transmission links and the CDMA BTSs used by PTCL. He joined Transmission Systems group at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany in November 2008 as integrated PhD student. His research interests are Peak-to-Average Ratio reduction for MIMO-OFDM systems.
