    Khodr A. Saaifan was born in Lebanon, in 1978. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in communications from Benha and Cairo Universities in June 2001 and May 2005, respectively. In January 2015, he received his Ph.D degree (with distinction) from Jacobs University Bremen.

    From 2005 to 2009 he was with the Research and Development Department of wireless phones and terminals at the Egyptian Telephone Company.

    Dr. Khodr joined the Transmission System (TrSys) Group at Jacobs University Bremen  as a research associate in Sept. 2009, starting his PhD studies on interference cancellation for wireless communications systems with the focus on MIMO systems, OFDM, and spread spectrum. As a part of his research , he served as a Teaching Assistant for courses such as Digital Signal Processing, Signal and System Lab, measurement tools Lab, and Electrical Circuits Analysis. During the first 2 years in the TrSys Group, he was working in a larger DFG-funded project on non-stationary interference cancellation in wireless broadband systems.

    Since Sept. 2015, Dr. Saaifan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Jacobs University Bremen. He is currently engaged in developing advanced space time coding schemes for wireless MIMO systems in uncoordinated interference. Publications are in the areas of CDMA/multiuser systems, interference modeling, impulse noise, single- and multicarrier transmission, and MIMO systems.
